Mayor Isko, Vice Mayor Chi distribute aid to Tondo fire victims

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso and Vice Mayor Chi Atienza distributed financial assistance to fire victims in Barangay 213, Tondo, Manila on Monday, Oct. 13.
Together with District 3 councilors, they gave P15,000 each to the 33 families that lost their homes in the fire last Oct. 10, as well as other social assistance from the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW).
The MDSW and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) had earlier provided the affected families with free lunches, food boxes, and construction materials to help rebuild their homes.
Domagoso assured the victims that Manila has a working government they can count on, especially in times of crisis.
"Mag-iingat po tayo palagi, mga Batang Maynila. Ang mga sakuna ay wala pong pinipiling oras. Ingatan po natin ang ating sarili, ang ating pamilya, at mga ari-arian na dugo't pawis ninyong pinundar. Muli, ingat po palagi sa ating mga kababayan (Let us always be careful, Children of Manila. Disasters can happen anytime. Let us take care of ourselves, our families, and the properties that you have paid for with your blood and sweat)," the mayor said.
