Actor Matteo Guidicelli is set to take the art of hosting to dazzling new heights as he embarks on an exciting journey with the Bilyonaryo News Channel. With his charismatic presence and engaging style, he is ready to captivate audiences and bring a fresh energy to the screen.
Matteo, 35, was welcomed by Cheryl Favila, Senior Vice President, and Maria Fatima Baylon, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, during the contract signing held at the Bilyonaryo News Channel headquarters in Cubao, Quezon City, on Oct. 13.
"Since the pandemic, I've been following the Bilyonaryo Channel. It's very interesting with what's in store, so I'm very excited to start with them," said Matteo after the simple contract signing event.
Matteo added, "For Bilyonaryo, we're focused on the 'Agenda.' It's not an exclusive contract, and we're still open. But I'm excited to work here and see what we can do. The reach of Bilyonaryo is amazing. It's a very credible platform."
Cheryl said that for "Agenda," Matteo will join the flagship newscast once or twice a week. "He will be delivering sports, lifestyle, and entertainment stories. We also have other features for him, but for now, it's "Agenda.' "
Matteo was asked how updated he is with what's happening around. On a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest, he answered, "I must say 9.5."
"Agenda" is a nightly news program anchored by Korina Sanchez-Roxas, Pinky Webb, and Willard Cheng.
Cheryl also mentioned that Bilyonaryo would like Matteo to take on other tasks for the news channel, which he hasn't done before.
"We're very pleased that Matteo decided to join us. We're very excited about Matteo joining us. We're grateful that he has acknowledged our impact and the stories that we make daily. With 'Agenda,' we could make Matteo experience what it is like in the news. We hope he becomes a real journalist eventually. We want to do more projects with him," Cheryl also said.
Cheryl said the Bilyonaryo Channel, launched in September 2024, initially aimed to target the A, B, and C1. "But in more than a year, we were able to get recognition like the Star Awards, where we won six awards right away. Now, many people say they watch Bilyonaryo. It's a great challenge that everybody is watching us. So we make sure that we come up with exclusive and explosive stories every single day from 'Agenda.' We make sure that the stories are aired tight."
Asked about the places he wanted to cover for 'Agenda," Matteo said, "I love to go to far-flung places here in the country. There are a lot of places na hindi ko pa napupuntahan locally and internationally. (There are a lot of places I haven't been to locally and globally.)"
Matteo also shared his thoughts on whether he should interview his wife, Sarah Geronimo, in "Agenda."
"I don't know yet. My wife is very private, but her stage is the playground," he added.
In addition to Matteo joining "Agenda," Cheryl said that the public can expect more programs in the coming months.
"For Q1 of 2026, there's a lot more in the pipeline. There will be more public affairs shows. We just launched our nighttime newscast. It's called
'Politiko Nightly' with Dexter Ganibe and Maiji Cruz. In the coming weeks, we will launch our IT show and several other shows," Cheryl added.
When asked about going full-blast along with other rival networks, the news executive said, "We're trying because we're a small and lean team, so we're doing the best we can. We're not a big network, but I think we're getting there in terms of quality of work."
Matteo embodies the spirit of a true patriot, an adventurous explorer, and a passionate lover of nature.
There is no date for Matteo's appearance on "Agenda" yet. However, the actor-businessman will begin on Bilyonaryo this year.
