The City Government of Manila will distribute vital care kits starting October 15, targeting over 101,000 recipients from various sectors, including students, barangay personnel, healthcare workers, and city employees.
A total of 101,214 care kits will be distributed as part of the city's ongoing commitment to public health and support for both its frontline workers and student population. The recipients include 13,110 senior high school students, 19,942 Grade 10 students, 9,725 students from Universidad de Manila (UDM), and 11,000 students from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM).
The distribution will also cover 10,000 barangay officials and 15,729 barangay tanods.
The city’s workforce will likewise receive care kits, comprising 8,529 regular LGU employees, 7,229 job order employees, and 1,150 contract of service workers from City Hall. Around 4,800 health center workers will benefit from this initiative.
Barangay chairmen have been instructed to wait for the delivery of the units, as they will be responsible for distributing the kits to their respective communities.
Coordination with schools and other city departments will ensure a smooth and efficient distribution process.
Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso emphasized the significance of the program, stating, “We will never know when calamity will strike, but what we can do is prepare. This kit may help save lives.”
Each care kit contains essential hygiene and wellness supplies designed to help recipients maintain their daily health, including a blood pressure monitor, glucose monitor system, oximeter, digital thermometer, pill organizer, and antiseptic wipes, along with SILVEX wound gel, an advanced wound care product that serves as a protective barrier against infection for up to three days.
The city government calls on all beneficiaries to cooperate with their local barangays and await further announcements regarding the distribution schedule.
