'Kaka-computer mo yan!': Kiko Barzaga late for ethics hearing, says he was 'very busy' playing video games

Controversial Cavite 4th district Rep. Francisco "Kiko" Barzaga didn't make it on time Monday, Oct. 13 to an ethics panel hearing where the complaints of his fellow congressman against him were discussed.
The reason? No, it wasn't the late night protest rally in Makati City that he attended. Rather, the gen Z lawmaker lost hours of sleep on video games.
"My hearing was already over by the time I arrived...I wasn't there, I couldn't have spoken," Barzaga said in a chance interview with House of Representatives reporters Monday morning outside Andaya Hall, where the Committee on Ethics and Privileges held its hearing.
"Tapos na yung complaints sakin nung dumating ako kasi na-late ako ng a few minutes (The complaints against me were already discussed before I arrived because I was late for a few minutes)," he noted.
When asked what caused him to be late, the self-proclaimed "congressmeow" didn't even mention the viral--but poorly-attended--anti-administration rally.
"Very busy last night...I was just playing games on my computer," Barzaga said.
Barzaga left Forbes Park Village in Makati at around midnight Monday. The committee hearing reportedly began at 9 a.m. sharp.
It's not clear what time the 27-year-old neophyte congressman stepped foot inside Andaya Hall.
At any rate, this left the eccentric Barzaga with practically nothing to do. "Wala akong masyadong ginawa doon (I didn't do much there), they just informed me about the reconciliation of mediation, that they have a sub-committee for it. And kung pwedeng i-settle (And if it's possible to settle) outside the ethics committee then maybe that might be the option.
"Pero ako (But for me), I wish for the case to proceed," the Dasmariñas solon said.
