As soon as the country flips its calendars to September, the air turns cooler, and malls and parks begin to glow with the warmth of the coming holidays. Embracing this festive spirit, Davao City lit up with Bright Beginnings, the ceremonial opening and Christmas lighting of Azuela High Street Park at Azuela Cove.
Spanning 25 hectares, Azuela Cove is a joint development between Ayala Land and the Alcantara Group, envisioned as Davao’s leading mixed-use estate. At its core is the three-hectare Azuela High Street, a hub for dining, retail, and wellness. The estate also features The Residences at Azuela Cove, The Seaside Promenade, The Shops and GCenter, and The Tent at Azuela Cove—bringing together spaces for living, leisure, and community gatherings.
The milestone was celebrated with key members of the Zobel, Alcantara, and Floirendo families, who joined the gathering that concluded with a toast to the place, the spirit of the season, and the beginning of a vibrant new chapter.
Yeng Tupaz, Ayala Land head for Central Luzon and VisMin estates, shared how this destination embodies the company’s vision, saying, “Azuela High Street represents our commitment to creating vibrant community destinations in Davao, where commerce, culture, and everyday living come together. With every new shop and experience, we bring people closer to the vision of Azuela Cove as Davao’s premier seaside lifestyle estate.”
The holiday spirit comes alive at the hub with a lineup of festive events that bring together creativity, music, and community. Kicking off the season is Craft Fest Davao from October 10 to 12, returning every weekend until Christmas, followed by a fun-filled Halloween Trick-or-Treat celebration. Book lovers can look forward to the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale from November 13 to 24, while music fills the air with Holiday Beats at the Park, happening every Saturday starting November 15 until Christmas.
Edith Alcantara, president and CEO of Alsons Land, shared how Azuela Cove represents more than just a development—it’s a continuation of a lasting vision. “For the Alcantara Group, Azuela is about building on our family’s legacy in Davao while looking ahead to the city’s bright future. This milestone is not just about new shops or festivities, but about creating spaces where families and communities thrive.” Her words echo how Azuela Cove stands as both a tribute to heritage and a step toward the city’s promising future.
