The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, October 13, that the easterlies—warm winds from the Pacific Ocean—will continue to affect the eastern sections of Luzon and the Visayas, bringing cloudy skies and scattered rains to several areas.
Based on PAGASA’s latest weather bulletin, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Isabela, Aurora, Rizal, and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
The weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides in these areas, particularly during moderate to at times heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and the rest of the Visayas may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also caused by the easterlies.
PAGASA advised residents to stay alert for severe thunderstorms that could trigger localized flooding or landslides.
Over in Mindanao, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected due to localized thunderstorms.
The agency issued a similar warning for possible flash floods or landslides in areas affected by strong storms.
PAGASA reminded the public to remain vigilant, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas, as sudden heavy rains may occur in the afternoon or evening.
