QC LGU sends Response team, hygiene kits to Davao Oriental
The Quezon City Government has deployed a team of personnel and relief supplies to Davao Oriental following the 7.6-magnitude earthquake that struck the province on Friday, Oct. 10.
A total of 15 city employees were immediately deployed on Saturday, Oct. 11, to assist in the ongoing relief and assessment operations.
The group is composed of engineers from the Department of Engineering, Department of Building Official, and members of the Search and Rescue Team of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO).
According to the city government, the team’s primary task is to conduct a Rapid Disaster Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) to evaluate the extent of damage caused by the earthquake and identify the immediate needs of the affected communities.
The assessment will help local authorities in Davao Oriental identify priority areas for response and recovery.
In addition to sending personnel, the Quezon City Government will also distribute 500 hygiene kits to families affected by the disaster.
Each kit contains basic hygiene and sanitation items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, baby wipes, soap, sanitary napkins, comb, shaving razor, nail cutter, diaper, and arinola.
The city said the assistance aims to help residents maintain proper hygiene and prevent the spread of diseases in evacuation centers.
