The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, Oct. 12 said it is “less likely” that a tropical cyclone will form inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the next two to three days.
PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said the southwesterly wind flow has weakened, with the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, known as the easterlies, now prevailing over the country.
From Monday to Wednesday, Oct. 13 to 15, the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Quezon, Aurora, and Isabela.
On Thursday, Oct. 16, rains over Bicol Region will ease but scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue over Quezon, Aurora, and Isabela.
Villamil said the rest of the country will generally experience fair weather apart from isolated rain showers or thunderstorms throughout the forecast period.
PAGASA advised the public to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides, particularly during moderate to heavy rainfall or severe thunderstorms.
