First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos paid tribute to Filipino nurses and community leaders in the United Kingdom, expressing gratitude for their courage, compassion, and service during a gathering in London on Friday, Oct. 10.
In a post on Instagram, Marcos described the evening as “a night of pride and gratitude,” honoring the contributions of overseas Filipino health workers who have become “pillars of strength and kindness” in the UK’s healthcare system.
“You led with courage. You cared with compassion. You served with heart,” she wrote.
“Each of you carries the Filipino spirit — strong, kind, and full of grace,” she added.
The First Lady, accompanied by Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom Teodoro Locsin Jr., said the event was an opportunity to recognize the vital role Filipino nurses play in upholding the nation’s reputation abroad through professionalism and empathy.
“Maraming salamat po. You make us proud,” she said.
During her trip, the First Lady also led the Serbisyo Caravan, a government outreach initiative that provided public services to overseas Filipinos in London.
“Even from across the world, you are never far from our hearts,” she said in another Instagram post.
The caravan offered services such as membership renewals, e-card printing, health checks, legal consultations, and welfare assistance to Filipino workers and their families in the UK.
“It’s always a joy to give back — even in small ways — to the Filipinos who give so much of themselves for their families and for our country,” Marcos said.
The Serbisyo Caravan forms part of ongoing government efforts to bring frontline assistance closer to overseas Filipinos, particularly in major international hubs where large Filipino communities reside.
