BACOLOD CITY – This highly-urbanized city has allocated P3 million in assistance for victims of the recent magnitude-6.9 earthquake in northern Cebu province.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) approved P3 million to aid the local government units (LGUs) in Cebu severely affected by the Sept. 30 tremor, following a recent meeting with Mayor Greg Gasataya.
“This is a gesture of solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Cebu who lost loved ones and homes in the recent earthquake,” the mayor said.
Gasataya earlier said that they will donate P2 million in financial assistance to Bogo City, Cebu, the epicenter of the tremor.
A donation drive has been launched for quake-hit communities in northern Cebu.
“When others are in pain, we don’t look away. We reach out, because in times like these, we can only stand stronger when we are together,” Gasataya said.
