The Taguig City government will pay the tuition and miscellaneous fees of qualified scholars who aspire to become doctors.
The city government launched the Value of Education through Stewardship for Taguigeños (INVEST) Scholarship Program to address the shortage of doctors in public hospitals.
The shortage of doctors in our public hospitals is one of the health problems our country is experiencing today. Under the program, scholars who pass the screening process and are willing to render return service to the City Government will be educated in Medicine),” Mayor Lani Cayetano posted on Facebook.
Taguig’s partner medical schools under the program are:
- Ateneo de Manila University School of Medicine and Public Health
- Centro Escolar University – Manila
- DLSU Health Sciences Institute
- Far Eastern University Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation
- Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
- Saint Luke's College of Medicine

Cayetano said the city government will pay for the full tuition and miscellaneous fees and each student will receive a monthly allowance of P15,000. The program will start in the next academic year.
A few years from now, we are sure that there will be more doctors in our city; more patients will be served in public health centers and hospitals; and programs that will protect the health of our countrymen will be expanded),” she said.
