Mika Salamanca surprises everyone with her unexpected birthday wish
"Trabaho pa rin ako sa birthday ko. May trabaho po ako nun. Parang naka-lock in kami nun. Pero lagi kong iniisip na kung working ka sa birthday mo, that means buong taon kang magta-trabaho. So blessing yun. (I still work on my birthday. I have a job then. It's like we're locked in. But I always think that if you're working on your birthday, that means you'll be working all year. So it's a blessing)," said Mika when asked about her plans on her birthday during the launch of her latest endorsement for J Spray in Quezon City recently. This is the first timea local perfume brand has hired a celebrity endorser since the company's inception eight years ago.
Mika, 24, said she's thankful for the blessings and the continued support of her family and fans. "Yung trabaho talaga na gumigising ako sa unaga. (It's the work that really gets me up in the morning.)"
Asked about her birthday wish, Mika said, "Ang birthday wish ko? Mamatay na yung corruption. Sa ngayon wala na akong birthday wish kasi binibigay na sa akin ng panginoon. I couldn't ask for more. So yun lang talaga. Mamatay ang corruption sa bansa. (My birthday wish? Corruption will die. Right now, I don't have any birthday wishes because the Lord has already given them to me. I couldn't ask for more. So that's all. Corruption will die in the country.)"
Mika also revealed the individual who holds the most profound admiration in her heart.
"To be honest, ang pinaka-ina-admire ko pa rin is yung mom ko pa rin talaga. Sa lahat ng nangyayari sa akin ngayon na blessings, I always think of them. Iniisip ko kung gaano kahirap yung mga ginagawa ko. Paano pa kaya yung mom ko noong itinaguyod niya kami? (To be honest, the one I still admire the most is still my mom. With all the blessings happening to me now, I always think of my family. I think about how hard it is for me to do what I do. But what about my mom, like when she took care of us when we were young?)"
"My mom is a super mom. Ang dami niyang work at ang dami niyang ginawa sa buhay. Ako gusto ko yung ginagawa ko ngayon pero paano na yung mga tao na hindi nila gusto yung ginagawa nila pero dapat nilang gawin yun dahil kailangan nilang mabuhay. So I admire my mom. (She has a lot of work and has done a lot in her life. I like what I'm doing now, but what about people who don't like what they're doing but have to do it to survive? So I admire my mom," she said.
Mika expressed her cautious approach to sharing her thoughts on social media, emphasizing the importance of being thoughtful and deliberate in her online statements.
She understands that each post carries weight and can spark a whirlwind of reactions, so she meticulously considers her words before hitting 'publish.'
"Kapag may ilalabas akong statement sa social media, I make sure na totoo yung sa akin. For example, may pinapanigan ako. Then I will make sure na naniniwala ako sa papanigan ko. In the future, baka ibalik uli sayo uli yun, dapat alam mo paano yun sasagutin. (When I release a statement on social media, I make sure that what I say is true. For example, I take a side. Then I will make sure that I believe in my side. In the future, it might resurface, so you should know how to respond to that)," Mika added.
