2 men caught in illegal gambling yield shabu in Pasig

Three drug suspects, including two who were caught engaging in illegal gambling during a police patrol, were arrested in separate operations in Pasig City on Thursday, October 9.
The Eastern Police District (EPD) identified the two suspects as “Mark,” 39, and “Lester,” 45. They were nabbed during a regular anti-criminality patrol conducted by personnel of the Pasig City Police Station Sub-Station 1 under the Meralco Avenue flyover in Barangay San Antonio around 12 a.m.
Authorities said the two were caught in the act of engaging in illegal gambling known as “Cara y Cruz,” during which they were also found in possession of drugs.
Recovered from them were three sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of 7.5 grams valued at P51,000, along with gambling paraphernalia and P520 in bet money.
Meanwhile, another suspect, identified as “Olem,” 35, was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) in Barangay Sta. Lucia at around 3:40 a.m.
Confiscated from him were two sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10.56 grams and valued at around P71,808.
The suspects are now under police custody.
