In his Facebook post, Dela Rosa said that the earthquakes in the Philippines will not cease unless Co returns to the country. The former lawmaker is embroiled in the multibillion-peso flood corruption scandal.
"Maawa ka na sa Pilipinas Zaldy! Palagi daw itong lilindolin hanggat hindi ka umuwi! (Have mercy on the Philippines, Zaldy! They say it will keep getting hit by earthquakes until you come home!)" Dela Rosa said this in a Facebook post.
"Kahit nakasquat na ako sa lupa kanina nahihilo pa rin ako sa lakas at tagal ng lindol (Even though I was already squatting on the ground earlier, I still felt dizzy because of how strong and long the earthquake was)," the Mindanaoan lawmaker added.
He ended his post by saying: "Umuwi ka na please (Please come home)."
The post, which has so far fetched 14,000 reactions on Facebook, garnered various reactions from netizens.
Whether his post was made in jest or not is still up for confirmation.
At least one person died in Davao Region (Region 11) after the earthquake, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) disclosed.
