Tomorrow X Together's Hueningkai denies dating rumors after being seen with a woman
Hueningkai, a member of K-pop boy band Tomorrow x Together, denied dating rumors after he was seen with a woman during the Chuseok holiday.
A video circulated online showing Hueningkai and a woman leaving a bar and driving together. The netizen who posted the video claimed, “They were drinking alone until dawn, and I saw the woman's face, but she wasn't even family."
On Oct. 10, Hueningkai clarified the dating rumors through a direct message on the fan communication platform Weverse.
"I feel so sorry towards MOA [fans] and I don't know why I have to avoid talking about it, so I'll just explain,” he said.
He said the woman was an acquaintance.
"I was with an acquaintance, and I couldn't leave her behind, so I dropped her off and came straight back to my dorm. All the places were closed during the holiday, so we went to the only ones available. I'm sorry for making you worry," he said, Korean media reported.
Hueningkai said that "since debut, I've always hated causing trouble for the members, and I've been a total homebody so I never went out. But since it was someone I hadn't seen in a while, I decided to see her. Since I was in that situation, I kept wondering what to do."
"I'm the type of person who hates lying, and I just wanted to be honest. I think the situation has caused a lot of misunderstandings, but MOA, you don't have to worry at all. I want to focus more on work and MOA. I'll work harder so MOA doesn't have to worry,” he said.
He said, "I'm so sorry I hurt MOA, the members, and the people at the agency. I said I wanted to be someone they could trust, but I feel like I didn't give them the trust they deserved, so I'm sorry. The members, MOA, and my family come before myself. I don't care what happens to me, but I'm sorry for making things difficult for MOA. I'm truly sorry. If there's anything I lack in saying, please tell me. I'll really fix it. I have a lot of shortcomings, so I think there's a lot to fix."
