Phivolcs lifts tsunami warning after Davao Oriental quake

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) lifted the tsunami warning at 1:43 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, following a major earthquake that struck Manay, Davao Oriental at 9:43 a.m.
The earthquake measured magnitude 7.4.
Tandag Sea Level Monitoring Station for Tsunami Detection in Surigao del Sur recorded a tsunami wave of about 30 centimeters at 10:20 a.m., Phivolcs said.
Authorities had previously advised residents in coastal areas to evacuate to higher ground.
