Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported that all airports under its supervision in Mindanao, including those in Davao Region, were operational following the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck Davao Oriental on Friday, Oct. 10.
Initial assessments from CAAP area centers and airport managers showed no major damage to any CAAP-operated airport facilities. However, minor cracks were observed in the logistics building of Dipolog Airport.
CAAP said it conducted an inspection to ensure structural integrity and passenger safety at the damaged airport.
Meanwhile, two commercial flights bound for Davao were diverted as a precautionary measure following the tremor:
GAP2813 (Manila–Davao) – diverted to Mactan-Cebu International Airport
CEB963 (Manila–Davao) – diverted to General Santos International Airport
CAAP said its airport personnel are on heightened alert and continue to monitor runway conditions, terminal structures, and communication systems to ensure uninterrupted and safe flight operations.
