Davao City suspended work and classes following the magnitude-7.4 earthquake on Friday morning, Oct.10.
"In view of the recent earthquake and to give way to the conduct of rapid damage assessment of infrastructures and facilities, classes in all levels, public and private educational institutions, in Davao City are hereby suspended immediately," the city government said in a Facebook post.
"In relation to the earthquake and expected series of aftershocks, please be informed that work in all government offices in Davao City is suspended today, Oct. 10,until further notice, except for offices performing safety and security, health, social services and disaster and emergency response services," the city government said in another FB post.
Private offices and establishments were given the discretion to suspend work or adopt work-from-home arrangemens for the safety and convenience of their employees.
