The Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) arrested three suspects on Thursday, Oct. 9, for allegedly using female prostitutes as a front to rob unsuspecting victims.
According to the Northern Police District (NPD), the suspects used a woman to approach male victims and offer sexual services.
Once the victim agreed, he would be brought to a dark area in a garage in Barangay 78, where several men pretending to be the woman’s husband would arrive and forcibly take the victim’s valuables.
CCTV footage captured the incident, showing the suspects fleeing the scene. Authorities were able to locate and arrest the three suspects through a tip from an informant.
Police said the group had been operating for some time, targeting men who were hesitant to report the crime due to embarrassment.
It added that many victims reportedly refused to go to the authorities for fear that their families would find out about their involvement with prostitutes.
Authorities reminded the public to report similar incidents and assured that victims’ identities would be kept confidential.
Police withheld the names of suspects.
