Authorities in the Caraga region are inspecting damages from the magnitude-7.4 earthquake that rocked the Davao region on Friday, Oct. 10.
The tremor was strongly felt in Butuan City, the capital of the region.
Butuan City Mayor Lawrence Fortun immediately deployed the city DRRMC to look into the situation of the people.
Hospital patients and students were evacuated.
The Southern Mindanao and Northeastern Mindanao Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils are closely monitoring the aftermath.
Meanwhile, power transmission services in Northeastern Mindanao remain stable despite the earthquake.
The grid remains intact and no reported cases of power interruptions and damaged transmission facilities were reported as of posting time.
The Davao International Airport sustained minor damage from the earthquake, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Giovanni Lopez said.
The airport resumed normal operations afterwards.
