Taguig police seize P1.2-M shabu, arrest 2 drug suspects
Taguig police confiscated P1.21 million worth of shabu and arrested two men in separate buy-bust operations on Oct. 8.
The operations were conducted by Taguig Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and Station Intelligence Section in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The first operation took place at about 5:25 p.m. in Barangay Upper Bicutan. During the operation, the police arrested alias Michael, 35, a resident of the barangay and tagged as a high-value individual.
Recovered from the suspect were eight plastic sachets containing 169.3 grams of shabu valued at P1.15 million, buy-bust money, boodle cash, and a cell phone.
At about 9:30 p.m., Taguig police conducted another buy-bust operation in Barangay San Miguel that led to the arrest of alias Mike, 40, tagged as a street-level individual.
Seized from him were four sachets of shabu weighing nine grams worth P61,200, buy-bust money, boodle money, and a coin purse used to conceal the illegal drugs.
The two suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, acting district director of the Southern Police District, hailed the successful operations.
“These back-to-back arrests of a high-value individual and a street-level individual, along with the seizure of more than P1.2 million worth of shabu, prove that SPD will not stop until every corner of our communities is free from the drug menace. I commend the leadership of Col. Byron F. Allatog and the tireless dedication of our operatives in protecting our communities from the scourge of drugs,” he said.
