The Quezon City government raised on Thursday, Oct. 9, its alert status on dengue as cases continue to rise, with nearly a thousand infections reported in September.
According to the Quezon City Epidemiology, from Sept. 10 to Oct. 7, 2025, the city logged 993 dengue cases, marking a 30% increase compared to the previous 14-day period, or an average of 40 daily cases.
The city also recorded four additional dengue-related deaths, bringing the total to 30.
In the last four weeks, males accounted for 57% (565) of cases, while females comprised 43% (428).
QCESD data also revealed that most of those infected were children aged 5 to 17 years old (381 cases or 59%).
Of the total, 415 (48%) showed “dengue warning signs”, while 12 (1%) were classified as “severe dengue.”
The barangays with the highest number of reported cases were Batasan Hills (82), Commonwealth (61), Holy Spirit (59), Tatalon (46), and Pasong Tamo (44).
QCESD reminded residents to immediately go to health center for a check-up and a dengue test.
Health centers are open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
