ILOILO CITY – The 3rd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army and the Australian Defense Force (ADF) have kicked off joint military exercises in Capiz province.
“These exercises strengthen not just interoperability but trust, understanding, and friendship between our soldiers. Australia has long been a trusted partner of the Philippines, always ready to lend a helping hand in times of need,” said Major Gen. Efren F. Morados, vice commander of the Philippine Army.
The Philippines–Australia Army-to-Army Exercise (PAAAE) “Kasangga: 2025-02” that opened on Wednesday, Oct. 8, in Camp Peralta in Jamindan town is a month-long joint exercise and training that aim to strengthen interoperability, enhancing tactical capabilities, and fostering camaraderie between the two allied armies.
Capt. Emma McDonald-Kerr, Australian defense attaché, said the joint exercises foster mutual understanding and unity in facing security challenges in the Asia-Pacific.
Also present at the opening was Brig. Gen. Joey A. Escanillas, 3rd ID assistant division commander.
