NCRPO: 239 people arrested in 24-hour anti-crime operations in Metro Manila
Operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) arrested a total of 239 people in a 24-hour anti-criminality drive in Metro Manila that started on Wednesday morning.
NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said 40 of those arrested were collared in anti-illegal drugs operations, 63 were nabbed during illegal gambling operations, and 61 fugitives, 21 of them are in the wanted list.
Among those in the wanted list was a 21-year old man listed in Metro Manila’s most wanted list who was collared by the Taguig City Police in Barangay Upper Bicutan.
Taguig City police chief Col. Byron Allatog said the suspect was arrested for a case of murder with no bail recommended, adding that the arrested suspect is also a known member of a criminal group under police watch for the fourth quarter of 2025.
The arrest of the suspect was lauded by Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano for what she described as swift and coordinated action of the local police force. She reiterated her full support for the local police in maintaining safety across all barangays, saying peace and order remain a top priority of the city government.
Other people arrested in the 24-hour operation, according to Aberin, were 36 people during police quick response based on citizens’ complaints, and 40 others for violations relating to local ordinances.
“These operations were systematically conducted to dismantle criminal activities that threaten community safety and social order across Metro Manila,” said Aberin.
