Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Ma. Esperanza Christina Garcia Frasco paid a courtesy visit to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso to further strengthen the partnership between the national government and the city government in promoting tourism initiatives in the capital.
Accompanied by several DOT officials, Secretary Frasco emphasized the importance of Manila in the country’s tourism landscape.
“Manila is one of our gems in tourism,” she said, affirming the department’s commitment to work closely with the local government to further boost tourism programs in the city.
The Tourism Secretary also lauded Mayor Isko's leadership, noting that the positive impact of his administration is already being felt, despite only completing his first 100 days in office.
Mayor Isko warmly welcomed the collaboration, expressing his full support for any initiative that would revitalize tourism and cultural development in Manila.
He assured Secretary Frasco and the DOT of the city’s active cooperation in achieving shared goals for sustainable tourism.
One of the key tourism-related proposals by Mayor Isko is to grant the city usufruct rights over the Intramuros Golf Course, to transform it into an open green space.
This, he said, would serve as a recreational area for the public, especially the city’s senior citizens.
