BACOLOD CITY – The Kabankalan City government in Negros Occidental donated P300,000 in financial assistance to over 200 families affected by a recent fire in Barangay 27 here.
Kabankalan Mayor Benjie Miranda turned over a check to Barangay 27 Captain Freeman Madalag at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) on Tuesday, Oct. 8, witnessed by Mayor Greg Gasataya.
Miranda said the donation was Kabankalan’s way of giving back to this city that supported them during typhoon ‘’Odette.’’
Madalag said that they intend to use the money to purchase construction materials to enable affected families rebuild their homes.
He thanked all individuals and groups who extended support.
