The Taguig City government turned over 10 new fire trucks and firefighting equipment to barangays and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
Mayor Lani Cayetano led the turnover ceremony held at the TLC grounds in Barangay Lower Bicutan.
Seven new fire trucks were given to Barangays Bambang, North Daang Hari, Katuparan, East Rembo, Cembo, Pitogo, and Pembo.
Two units were turned over to the BFP while one was given to the Taguig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).
Each unit is equipped with essential firefighting equipment, including hoses, nozzles, firefighter suits, helmets, boots, axes, crowbars, ladders, sledgehammers, and spanners.
“Today is truly a day of thanksgiving — for the Lord’s provisions, for our taxpayers whose trust and support make these programs possible, and for our partners in public service who continue to build a Transformative, Lively, and Caring city," said Cayetano.
Acting City Fire Marshal Supt. Garynel Julian thanked the city government for its continued support.
Taguig was recently recognized as the best performing city fire station in Metro Manila during the 3rd Quarter Command Conference of Fire District 4.
