JP Boral and Patrick Sleat powered Perpetual to a 75-65 win over defending champion Mapua for its third straight win in the NCAA Season 101 men's basketball tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
Boral had 15 points while Sleat tallied a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds on top of five assists and three steals as the Altas remained unbeaten for their best start in recent memory.
LA Casinillo chipped in 13 points while Mark Gojo Cruz added 15 for the Las Pinas-based squad.
Perpetual tightened up its defense in the second half in the game that had seven deadlocks and 11 lead changes.
The Altas also limited reigning Most Valuable Player Clint Escamis to six points in 27 minutes of play. Mapua slid to a 2-1 record.
