Malapitan said his administration began by confronting long-standing concerns that have affected Caloocan residents for years.
"Sa pagsisimula ng aking unang termino, sinalubong tayo ng problema sa baha, trapiko, basura, at malubak na kalsada. I am here not to make excuses but to acknowledge the problems and tell you, nakikinig po ako sa inyo at narito ang mga solusyon (At the start of my first term, we were faced with problems such as flooding, traffic, garbage, and damaged roads. I am here not to make excuses but to acknowledge these issues and tell you, I hear you, and here are the solutions),” he said
The city partnered with the UP Resilience Institute to develop a Master Drainage Plan to address flooding, and tapped a traffic consultant to help improve road flow and decongest major routes.
The City Environmental Management Department (CEMD) has also intensified clean-up efforts, collecting over 204 tons of waste and conducting 110 clean-up drives since July.
Malapitan emphasized that his administration will remain transparent and inclusive in its programs.
"Klaro ang ating layunin, malasakit sa tao at hindi sa pulitika. Bagamat mayroon pang mga kailangang resolbahin, hindi po maipagkakaila na marami na rin tayong nagawa (Our mission is clear - to serve the people with compassion, not politics. Though there are still challenges to address, it’s undeniable that we’ve made significant progress),” he said.
"Tahanan nating lahat ang Caloocan at alam ko na sa puso nating lahat, ang Batang Kankaloo ay para sa kanyang kapwa Batang Kankaloo (Caloocan is our shared home, and I believe that every Batang Kankaloo holds a genuine concern for their fellow citizens),” Malapitan added.
