Lock in: The Nubia NEO 3 GT 5G Limited Edition

Published Oct 8, 2025 09:25 am
The nubia NEO 3 GT 5G was launched earlier this year, rising as a mid-range contender.
If you’ve been thinking of picking up this phone then you’re in luck. nubia has announced a Limited Edition in collaboration with popular game Free Fire.
It is billed as a gamer phone, so you might already imagine what it’ll look like. Gamer phones tend to be a bit edgy or hardcore. The limited edition of the nubia NEO 3 GT does away with that approach, instead stripping down most of the techno sci-fi aesthetics into what they call a “minimalist” design. In other words, it looks like any other phone, but with some sleek designs to make the NEO 3 GT stand out more. On top of this, the phone has some cool backlights.
I do appreciate the slimness of the phone. By this I mean not having a massive camera sensor at the back.
The power button being red is a nice touch, which adds this stark contrast to the NEO 3 in a very pleasant way. And of course, since this is a gaming phone, it has air triggers, which I’ve always found interesting and useful at times when playing. I’m a console and PC gamer, so being able to press something above my hands using my index fingers is always welcome. It also gives a competitive edge over others as well. If that leaves an unfair advantage over others, then let’s leave that discussion for the philosophers.
The nubia NEO 3 GT 5G features a 6.8-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2392. It comes with a 120Hz screen refresh, though you can change this in the settings. Powering it is a Unisoc T9100 chip, which has given a strong performance in the games we’ve tried with it so far, which includes Mobile Legends, Call of Duty Mobile, and of course, Free Fire.
nubia boasts its AI system upscales game content to ensure you get the most out of that 120Hz.
The 12GB of RAM should give you plenty of speed and some multitasking as you flip through your apps. In case you need more, you can borrow from the 256GB internal storage to increase your RAM up to a maximum of 24GB. 24GB RAM for a smartphone, can you imagine that? I’m an old millennial, let me stay surprised every time.
The front camera is 16MP and captures decent images and videos. The rear camera comes with the classic dual setup with 50MP wide and a 2MP for depth. Like the front camera, the rear ones captured decent images and videos. It does include AI features, including removal of objects in the background.
The limited edition comes with two boxes packaged as one. The first box includes the nubia NEO 3 GT. The second box includes some other goodies, including a case with a ring magnet to magnetically attach compatible power banks and chargers. It also ships out with a gamepad where you connect the NEO 3. The gamepad surprised me with its quality. It’s sturdy and the buttons feel solid. The analog stick feels like they won’t suddenly drift. The D-pad feels accurate, unlike others where you push one button and three other things happen at the same time. The USB-C connector as well is well designed with a soft base, which allows some flexibility when connecting the smartphone to it.
nubia is running a special 10.10 promo for the nubia NEO 3 GT 5G. If you were thinking of grabbing this phone as your daily driver and gaming partner, this is your chance to get more out of it.
