ILOILO CITY – Police Brig. Gen. Josefino D. Ligan recently touted his first 100 days as Police Regional Office-6 chief.
“As I completed my first 100 days, I assure the people of Western Visayas that our commitment to excellence will only grow stronger,” said Ligan.
A four percent drop in total crime incidence and a 2.67-percent decline in 10 focus crimes were recorded during Ligan’s first 100 days.
In the campaign against illegal drugs, PRO-6 confiscated more than 19 kilograms of suspected shabu worth P132 million and arrested 543 drug suspects in 391 anti-narcotics operations from June 19 to Sept. 26.
Six-hundred fifty-three wanted criminals were arrested in 649 operations.
In the campaign against illegal firearms, 92 people were arrested and 442 unlicensed firearms and 62 explosives were recovered.
In close coordination with the 3rd Infantry Division, three New People’s (NPA) rebels were apprehended and terrorism financing were filed.
Ligan travelled around the region and tested the five-minute police response time.
He boosted morale and welfare by improving facilities and implementing health and wellness programs.
