Laborer kills mom for failure to prepare dinner

TACLOBAN CITY — A laborer allegedly killed his 77-year-old mother for failure to prepare dinner for him on Tuesday in Sitio Riverside, Barangay Macupa, Leyte, Leyte.
The suspect, Rick, 35, was apprehended in a hot-pursuit operation in Barangay Belen, Leyte, Leyte.
Investigation said the suspect returned home from work and became enraged when he discovered that his mother failed to prepare a meal for him. 
Rick struck her head with a stone and she died on the spot.
The victim was discovered by her daughter who reported the incident to the police.
A neighbor said the suspect is believed to be suffering from a mental illness.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
