The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) is set to mark its 85th anniversary with a nationwide celebration through the “Run as One: 85 Years in the Running” Fun Run on October 12 at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.
In a statement, GSP said the fun run will bring together Girl Scouts, alumnae, families, and supporters from across the country to honor eight and a half decades of empowering Filipino girls and young women to become leaders and changemakers.
Participants may choose from 850-meter, 5-kilometer, 8-kilometer, and 13-kilometer race categories — each distance symbolizing the GSP’s legacy of continuous growth, service, and sisterhood spanning 85 years.
Each registered runner will receive a race kit that includes a singlet, rucksack, race bib, finisher medal, and, for 8K and 13K participants, a finisher shirt and special freebies.
Beyond promoting fitness, the “Run as One” event highlights the values of unity, perseverance, and community — reflecting the essence of the Girl Scouting movement in the Philippines.
Founded in 1940, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines is a non-stock, non-profit, and non-partisan organization dedicated to helping girls and young women develop their full potential as responsible citizens and future leaders through the Girl Scouting Program.
