CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Acting Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. led the leadership turnover at the Police Regional Office-10 (Northern Mindanao) on Wednesday.
During a ceremony, Nartatez formally announced Police Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano's assumption as acting regional director.
Abrahano succeeded Police Brig. Gen. Rolindo Suguilon.
Nartatez said PNP's mandate and commitment to anti-crime efforts “will remain aggressive” as he reminded police personnel and officials of their duty to public service.
Abrahano vowed to maintain peace and order on the ground down to the communities where police visibility is key in curbing criminal activities.
According to PRO-10 spokesperson Police Major Joann Navarro, their unit is one of the few regional offices currently undergoing leadership change.
"To my knowledge, there were three so far; other than PRO-10, PRO-2 (Cagayan Valley), and PRO-4B (Southwestern Tagalog) were included," she said. (PNA)
