The Philippines Sports Commission (PSC), in collaboration with Elite Link, Inc., has officially launched an application that will further help Filipino athletes get closer to their dreams.
On Monday, Oct. 6, at the Solaire Resort Entertainment City in Parañaque, the PSC proudly unveiled the mobile app called Elite Link, a data storage platform where all the registered athletes can insert their basic information as well as flaunt their accolades, experiences, highlights, and more.
The newest program, which resembles LinkedIn in the sports industry, could also help establish and promote the Filipino bets in attracting partnerships or reach out with brands, clubs, and scouts not only in the Philippines, but also overseas.
“Here we are launching a very big program that is a game-changer for Philippine sports, at no cost to the Philippine government and PSC,” said PSC chairman Patrick Gregorio. “Eh talagang sa sports may tamang tyamba. May three points na, foul counted pa.”
“‘Yan po ang Elite Link… this could transform the lives of young athletes or young aspiring Filipinos, na ambisyon nila na taga-Mindanao [or] Cebu na sino kaya ang pwedeng makausap nila para maipakita ‘yong angking galing nila sa sports,” he added.
Unveiled two months ago, this digital ecosystem will now open its doors for the emerging stars who will compete in the 2025 Batang Pinoy in General Santos City.
“Starting with Batang Pinoy, we ensure every athlete has a digital footprint from the beginning,” Gregorio said in a statement.
“We want to have access to our athletes and give them all the opportunities they need to unleash their full potential,” he added.
It would be a great opportunity for the aspiring Filipino athletes, especially from the provinces, to document themselves from the beginning of their careers, which, perhaps, can earn them a shot for scholarships or a new team.
“It’s hard to navigate, we have big dreams, pero how do we get there? It’s hard, but we have technology, and this technology, I feel, we’re using it to really aid and help our athletes,” said Olympic swimmer and Elite Link Senior Advisor Akiko Thomson-Guevara.
Elite Link is backed by White Cloak Technologies, a software development company which made sure that the app will be secure, adaptable, and user-friendly. The PSC, on the other hand, has the keys to the athletes’ insights and analytics via a purpose-built dashboard to boost the nation’s development programs.
“Elite Link isn’t just another app – it’s a robust digital ecosystem designed to connect athletes, coaches, sponsors, and scouts in real time, with features built for growth and sustainability in the sports sector,” White Cloak wrote in a statement.
