GOSSIP GIRL: Erwan Heussaff & Nico Bolzico do a circus cameo for their kids
When the “greatest showman” calls you from the audience to join their act in the circus, you do not say no. And that’s precisely what happened to celebrities Erwan Heusaff (11 million followers across social media), Nico Bolzico (Over 7 million followers across social media), and me, when we brought our families to watch EuroXtreme Circus in West Alabang. The EuroXtreme Circus is a touring circus show in the Philippines, featuring a lineup of international acts and performers from Budapest and other parts of Europe and Latin America. It revives the traditional "Big Top" circus tent experience, often under large, Italian-made, air-conditioned tents that can hold about 1,500 to 1,800 spectators. As a performer myself, I’ve always been drawn to the art of showmanship—the kind that makes you laugh, gasp, and sit at the edge of your seat. But nothing quite prepared me for the adrenaline rush I experienced when I brought my family to watch the EuroXtreme Circus in West Alabang.
From the moment the lights dimmed, I knew we were in for something special. The trapeze artists soared through the air with such grace and courage, you could almost hear the collective heartbeat of the audience pause mid-flight. Their act was death-defying and divine—reminding me how faith and focus keep us suspended in our own leaps of life. Then came the motorcycles in the infamous Globe of Death. I swear, it was like watching Fast & Furious: Circus Edition! The roar of engines, the precision, the speed—it was thrilling and terrifying all at once. My daughter Lia clutched my arm the entire time, and I may or may not have screamed louder than her.
Of course, every good circus needs a good laugh, and this one had a clown who was comedy gold. He had impeccable timing, charm, and just the right amount of mischief. At one point, he singled out my husband from the audience, and for about 30 minutes, the clown incorporated him into his skit. The crowd went wild, and I laughed so hard I almost cried. My husband might need therapy after this, but the audience sure got their money’s worth!
What made the night even more unforgettable was the audience participation. Lia and I were called onstage along with Nico and Erwan, who were also there with their children. So when the greatest showman invited them to do an audience participation, they willingly said yes for the sake of their children, who were cheering them on! Nico’s actress-wife, Solenn Heussaff, was cheering for her husband. Too bad actress Anne Curtis, Erwan’s wife, had a prior engagement. Imagine a bunch of celebrities laughing, playing, and being total kids again—it was pure, unscripted joy. Even off-camera, the energy was contagious.
EuroXtreme Circus is the perfect family experience—equal parts thrill, laughter, and wonder. It’s a reminder that in a world full of screens and scrolling, live entertainment still has the power to unite hearts and ignite spirits. Don’t miss it! The EuroXtreme Circus is now in its final week in West Alabang, with shows running Tuesday to Sunday. You can grab your tickets at euroxtremecircus.helixpay.ph.
