Fisherman nabbed in buy-bust on 26th birthday

BACOLOD CITY – A fisherman was arrested in a buy-bust operation on his 26th birthday on Sunday in Cabug Bay-bay, Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Police Lt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca, Silay police chief, said that the suspect Alden asked to spare him because of his birthday but authorities denied his request as illegal drugs is a serious offense.
Alden was arrested with a companion Jay-r, 36, of Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.
They were tagged by police as newly identified individuals in the illegal drugs trade.
Darroca said they have been targeting the barangay after receiving reports about alleged illegal drug activities.
Seized from the suspects were eight grams of suspected shabu worth P54,400.
