Raslag taps Greencity Energy for 100-MW Nueva Ecija solar-BESS project
Local renewable energy (RE) firm Raslag Corp. is advancing its solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Nueva Ecija with the newly appointed engineering partner.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Monday, Oct. 6, Raslag announced it has chosen Greencity Energy Philippines, Inc. (GCE) to develop the 100-megawatt alternating current (MWac) solar power and BESS project.
Located in Barangay Liwayway, Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija, the RE project will be under Raslag’s subsidiary, Raslag Liwayway, Inc., and is expected to begin its design phase by the fourth quarter of 2025, with commissioning targeted for 2027.
According to Raslag, GCE will be responsible for the project’s development, design review, procurement support, construction supervision, testing and commissioning support, and the transition to operations and maintenance. GCE has been given an 18-month period to complete its work, subject to adjustment.
Raslag currently has about 77.84 MW of installed capacity, which is expected to grow to around 140 MW once its Raslag 7 and 8 projects are developed. Most of the company’s projects are in Pampanga.
The company operates four solar power projects under the Department of Energy’s (DOE) feed-in tariff scheme, while two others are merchant plants in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
Earlier this year, Raslag signed a two-year power supply agreement (PSA) with Filinvest’s retail electricity subsidiary, FDC Retail Electricity Sales Corp. (FDC RES), for an 18 MW-peak (MWp) supply from the Raslag III Solar project in Mabalacat, Pampanga. The company has also partnered with a Singaporean firm to acquire shares in a hybrid energy project.
