Quake-hit Bogo City to receive P2-M cash aid from Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY – The provincial government of Negros Occidental will extend a P2-million financial assistance to earthquake-hit Bogo City, Cebu province.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson encouraged other local government units (LGUs) in the province to help towns in Cebu affected by the Sept. 30 tremor.
The LGUs of San Carlos City, Sipalay City, Silay City, Sagay City, Cadiz City, Talisay City, Escalante City, Victorias City, and Toboso extended aid to Bogo City last week.
Lacson and Vice Gov. Joeben Alonso thanked LGUs which participated in the One Negros Response Team delegation to Cebu.
“Your courage, compassion, and unity prove that in times of crisis, Negros Occidental stands not just for itself, but for the entire nation,” the provincial government said.
Aside from manpower, the LGUs and the provincial government also deployed tankers, mobile water filtration units, ambulance, rescue truck, utility vehicles, and other essential assets to support relief and rescue operations.
Lacson said that most of the province’s rescuers will pull out from Cebu on Friday, while a team from Victorias City will staying a little longer as they just arrived on Monday, Oct. 6.
