Alberto Lim Jr. produced another masterful performance and outlasted Jed Olivarez with a 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 win to capture his third consecutive crown in the men’s singles event of the PCA Tennis Championships in Paco, Manila Sunday, Oct. 5.
In the battle of the top two players, the 26-year-old Lim was purely dominant in the first two sets before denying Olivarez in the third with a show of power and precision.
Aside from bagging the P200,000 grand prize, Lim also copped his third consecutive and fourth overall in the annual meet.
Olivarez, for his part, settled for a runner-up purse of P100,000.
In the men's doubles event, veteran Johnny Arcilla and Bryan Saarenas reigned supreme after notching a 6-3, 5-7 (11-9) triumph over Fritz Chris Verdad and Rolly Saga.
Meanwhile, Tennielle Madis turned the jets on early and ripped Kaye Anne Emana, 6-0, 6-3, to rule the distaff side.
