The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has announced an extension of deadlines for the filing of tax returns, payment of taxes, and submission of required documents in areas affected by the recent earthquake that struck Cebu.
The relief measure applies to taxpayers and BIR personnel under the jurisdiction of Revenue District Offices (RDOs) No. 80 (Mandaue City), No. 81 (Cebu City-North), No. 82 (Cebu City-South), No. 83 (Talisay City), and No. 123 (Large Taxpayers Division–Cebu), including their authorized agent banks (AABs).
Under Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 88-2025, all tax obligations falling due within October 2025 may now be filed and paid on or before Oct. 31, 2025. The circular also lists the specific BIR forms and returns covered by the extension.
“This extension grants taxpayers the needed flexibility to fulfill their tax obligations without adding to the hardships caused by the calamity. It demonstrates our commitment to responsive, compassionate, and excellent taxpayer service, especially in times of crisis,” said BIR Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr.
