PNP vows to unmask people behind entry of seized P6.9B worth of shabu in Pangasinan

Police Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr., acting chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), ordered a thorough investigation into the confiscation of around P6.9 billion worth of shabu in Pangasinan in a bid to identify and arrest all those responsible for the entry of the illegal drugs into the country.
The seized shabu, which is the biggest drug haul so far since Nartatez assumed the top PNP leadership in August this year, was a result of two-day operations of the PNP and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) that started with the arrest of a Chinese and a Filipino in a buy-bust in Bugallon town where 125 kilos of shabu worth P850 million were seized.
The following day, PNP and PDEA agents raided a warehouse in Labrador town which resulted in the discovery of 895 more kilos of shabu worth P6.1 billion.
“This is a good example of an accomplishment that we can do every day especially when the community as well as the agencies concerned are in coordination… we assure that we will get to the bottom of this case, by identifying all the personalities involved and filing cases against them,” said Nartatez.
Nartatez personally inspected the drug haul along with PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez in Pangasinan on Saturday, Oct 4. 
During the inspection, Nartatez lauded all the PNP and PDEA agents who participated in the successful two-day operations.
“I would like to congratulate the PNP agents who participated as well as the PDEA agents that led to the confiscation of huge volume illegal drugs. I thank our partners in the PDEA for the success of this drug operation. I assure our kababayans that those behind these illegal drugs, both small-time dealers and big syndicates, will be jailed,’’ Nartatez said.
“This is in line with what the instruction of President Ferdinand ‘’Bongbong’’ R. Marcos Jr. na mawala totally itong illegal drugs sa ating bansa (to eliminate illegal drugs in the country) in a very peaceful manner,” he stressed.
Nartatez also assured of the PNP’s continuous commitment against illegal drugs through strong partnership and good working relationship with all the law enforcement agencies.
