BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested a 26-year-old former security guard on Saturday, Oct. 4, for allegedly raping the daughter of a caretaker of an apartment in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
The suspect, a resident of Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, was apprehended on warrant for three counts of rape, with no bail recommended.
The suspect allegedly threatened the victim that she will kill her if she reports the incidents to the police.
The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) tagged the suspect as eighth most wanted person in the region.
Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, said that this exemplifies the region’s steadfast commitment to uphold justice and ensure that offenders are made accountable for their actions.
He reminded the public that vigilance and cooperation are vital in safeguarding communities.
Police urged the public to remain proactive and unafraid in reporting any suspicious or unlawful activities to the police.
