DAP holds AI training for career execs as ordered by PBBM

On the orders of President Marcos, the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) recently concluded its three-day training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for directors and digital specialists in the government.
The training, through DAP’s Center for Career Executive Service (CES) Development, in partnership with the Asian and Pacific Training Center for ICT for Development of the United Nations ESCAP (APCICT-ESCAP), was held on October 1-3 at LS Virata Hall, DAP Pasig City.
Directors and digital specialists from 18 government agencies completed the timely and high-impact program, guided by AI governance expert Mr. Timothy Tay Huey En.

The training provided the participants with deeper insights on AI tools, risks, and transformative power. The participants, after completing the training, are now better equipped to drive digital transformation and innovation in governance in the public sector.
President Marcos had earlier ordered DAP, the main training arm of the government, to offer courses on AI to career executives.
Reina Carmelita F. Young, Director for Advocacy and Admission, Office Center for CES Development, said it was former Center for CES Development Vice President Nanette C. Caparros who kickstarted the AI training program as it was during her tenure when President Marcos issued the directive to DAP to include AI training in its roster of courses.

Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan also ordered DAP to make sure that the training program is responsive to the needs of development under the Philippine Development Plan.
Young said the Middle Managers Class (MMC) Batch 37 and Senior Executives Class (SEC) Batch 15 which are set to begin in early 2026, will bring together the nation’s brightest, most promising, and most capable public sector officials. DAP will prepare them to take on strategic roles in delivering the country’s goals and aspirations.
