Cops nab fake lady dentist in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY – Another fake dentist was arrested in Iloilo City.

The Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit-6 of the Philippine National Police arrested alias “Gaile” last Oct. 2 in La Paz District.

The 20-year-old has been offering dental services online without a license.

The suspect is facing charges for violating Section 33 (a) and (i) of Republic Act No. 9484 or the Philippine Dental Act of 2007 in relation to Section 6 of Republic ActNo. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

“We reiterate that only licensed professionals are authorized to provide dental and medical services,” said Police Brig. Gen. Bernard R. Yang, PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group chief.

“Offering such services online without credentials is both illegal and dangerous. We will continue to pursue offenders to protect the health and safety of the public," Yang added.
