CineSilip 2025 Film Festival: Bold, creative, and artistic

The Philippine film industry is set to witness a new milestone with the launch of the CineSilip Film Festival, a platform dedicated to showcasing the country's finest filmmaking talents.
Scheduled to run from Oct. 22 to 28, 2025, this inaugural event is a joint initiative of Viva's film production group and Ayala Malls Cinemas.
The CineSilip Film Festival aims to highlight and promote the skill, artistry, and creativity of emerging Filipino directors.
"The festival will feature seven films that give directors and writers the creative freedom to craft stories that captivate moviegoers and spark imagination. These adult and mature stories span a diverse range of genres, including horror, comedy, and drama," said Ronald Arguelles, festival director, during the media conference held at Viva Cafe in Araneta City recently.
The seven featured films
1) Ang Lihim ni Maria Makinang (The Secret of Maria Makinang) - a coming-of-age drama directed by Gian Arre, starring Gold Aceron, Aiko Garcia, and Mercedes Cabral.
It tells the story of Maria, a young woman who appears only during the full moon. She falls for a man named Danilo, and their love is tested through time, because for Danilo, decades have passed, but for Maria, it has only been a few moments.
2) Babae Sa Butas (The Woman In The Hole) – an erotic drama-comedy directed by Rhance Añonuevo-Cariño, starring Van Allen Ong and Vern Kaye.
A tricycle driver experiences a passionate encounter with a mysterious woman through a hole in the wall. As he searches for her, hoping she can help him save his crumbling relationship, he discovers that he has actually being deceived by someone close to him.
3) Dreamboi – an erotic psychological drama directed by Rodina Singh, starring Tony Labrusca and EJ Jallorina.
A transwoman who becomes obsessed with the voice of an underground audio porn star. Caught between fantasy and reality, join her on a journey of desire, pain, and struggle under the glowing neon lights of Quezon City.
4) Haplos Sa Hangin (A Sinful Touch) - an erotic horror film directed by Mikko Baldoza, starring Martin Del Rosario and Denise Esteban.
The story follows Emman, a visual artist who becomes drawn to his neighbor, Althea – a woman trapped in an abusive relationship. As he and his fiancée, Liz, try to help Althea, Emman’s desire and obsession for her gradually grow, leading him into a nightmare filled with betrayal and darkness.
5) Maria Azama: Da Best P*Rn Star – a sexy-comedy film directed by Alan Habon, starring Albie Casiño and Dani Yoshida.
Jopet’s wild fantasy comes true when a porn actress magically comes to life after he watches one of her videos. At first, the experience is thrilling and everything he ever dreamed of. But soon after, he realizes the harsh truth, that being with an idolized figure isn’t always as pleasurable as he imagined, and reality has consequences his fantasy never showed.
6) Pagdaong (A Midnight Kiss) - a romantic drama directed by Pongs Leonardo, starring Angela Morena and Astrid Lee.
The story follows Luna, a writer who is constantly questioned by a curious student named Jane about the meanings behind her poems. As Luna and Jane get to know each other, Jane gradually discovers that Luna’s poems are written for a woman named Ella.
7) Salikmata (Unseen) – an erotic-thriller film directed by BC Amparado, starring Aliya Raymundo and Aerol Carmelo. Salikmata is also written by Amparado’s fellow Kapampangan Jason Paul Laxamana.
In a remote town full of secrets and mysteries, a young man faces controversy after his secret relationship with a politician’s daughter is exposed. He must confront harsh consequences filled with deception, revenge, and unexplained events.

"I hope they will experience seven films filled with boldness, unafraid to explore passion, tackle stories that stir intrigue, and push the boundaries of Filipino filmmaking," Ronald added.
