Operatives from the Southern Police District (SPD) and the Las Piñas Police Warrant and Subpoena Section arrested a man wanted for sexual offenses in Makati City on Oct. 3.
Police Col. Sandro Tafalla, Las Piñas City Police chief, said the suspect, Buboy, 23, was nabbed at around 1:30 p.m. on Sampaloc Street in Barangay Pembo, Makati City.
Tafalla said members of the SPD-District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) coordinated with them for the arrest of Buboy, who was wanted for acts of lasciviousness, two counts of sexual assault, and four counts of statutory rape.
He said the suspect was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Mildred Jacinto Marquez of Las Piñas City Regional Trial Court Branch 2.
Marquez recommended a bail of P200,000 for acts of lasciviousness; P400,000 for two counts of sexual assault, and no bail for four counts of statutory rape.
The suspect was brought to the SPD-DSOU custodial facility after his arrest for documentation.
Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, SPD director, underscored the importance of this arrest not only as a police accomplishment but as a significant step toward delivering justice to the victims.
“The crimes committed by the accused are among the most heinous, targeting the most vulnerable members of our society. His arrest is a strong statement that we will never allow perpetrators of such despicable acts to roam free. This is not only about law enforcement but about giving the victims and their families the justice they rightfully deserve,” Arceo said.
