A magnitude 4 earthquake struck off Cebu on Saturday evening, Oct. 4, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
In its Earthquake Information No. 1, Phivolcs said the tremor occurred at 6:52 p.m.
The quake’s epicenter, according to the agency, was located 22 kilometers southwest of Bogo City, Cebu.
It had a shallow depth of 10 kilometers and was tectonic in origin, the agency added.
“This is an aftershock of the 2025 September 30 Mw6.9 Offshore Northern Cebu earthquake event,” Phivolcs noted.
Phivolcs said it does not expect damage or aftershocks from the latest tremor.
