To this, Deputy Speaker Iloilo 1st district Rep. Janette Garin, the presiding officer at that time, said: "In view of the resignation of Elizaldy S. Co, the secretary general is hereby directed to drop Representative Co from the roll of members of the House of Representatives. So ordered."
Lawyer Cheloy Garafil was recently installed as secretary general.

Co's resignation letter was received by the office of House Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III at 2:35 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29.
