DAVAO CITY – The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) unveiled the Mindanao Development Tracker during the culmination of the Mindanao Development Forum (MDF) at Dusit Thani Residences here on Thursday, Oct. 2.
The Mindanao Development Tracker is a unified monitoring platform designed to strengthen results-based governance and fast-track inclusive development, according to MinDA.
MinDA Executive Director Janet Lopoz said the platform is a Results Based Monitoring and Evaluation System that intends to provide the public with real time data and information on all the development initiatives in Mindanao.
Lopoz said the formulation of the platform was a recommendation during the MDF last year.
“When we are done, how do we measure whether we are making a dent? In our poverty, in our development. How do we measure? That we are able to align what we do whether its government, whether its development partners,” she said.
The MDF gathered development partners and changemakers to exchange insights and forge solutions for a stronger, more inclusive Mindanao.
The online platform (www.mindanaotracker.com) represents a new approach to monitoring, collaborating, and advancing development initiatives across Mindanao, MinDA said in a briefer.
It added that the platform aims to serve as the central nervous system for all development activities in the region, embodying our commitment to coordinated regional progress.
The platform was developed with support from the European Union, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and a wide network of partners from government, civil society, and the private sector.
Lopoz admitted that coming up with the RBMES was not easy.
“The journey towards building the RBMES has been challenging but mostly exciting. The questions on alignment or ownership whether we are creating an impact has gradually been taking shape.”
She said that the platform is more than just a monitoring tool but an instrument of accountability, a mirror of transparency and most importantly, a catalyst for action.
“It ensures that every project, whether its government, LGU, ODA-financed, foundation-funded every program, every project, and every partnership, harnessed as force for transformation, unlocking Mindanao's full promise, a Mindanao that is peaceful, inclusive and thriving for generations to come,” Lopoz said.
